| On a chilly and windy morning 9 of us met to walk 3 miles to Little Wittenham where a Lent lunch was being served in the Manor House. What a great incentive. We started off through Brightwell village, over the hill along the Roman road , passed the Warburton Farm and through the woods. From there it was once more uphill and along the rampart of Round Hill. Staying on the outer edges of the clumps we arrived with plenty of time to take a good look at the old church and the very pretty churchyard which was still full of snowdrops. After a sumptuous lunch, a slow amble took us back to Brightwell. | |
