Warburton Walkers (click on the link on the left for more information and pictures of past walks)

Our walking group has got off to a great start for 2008. We managed to pick the only sunny day in a week of torrential downpour. The walk was fairly level and dry apart from one low lying meadow ( see picture ) and one rather claggy clay field. Having skidded and squelched our way across, doubling our shoesize in the process,  there were fortunately enough puddles left to wash it all off. Later sharp eyed Cynthia spotted the first snowdrops along the way. Our efforts were rewarded with a warm welcome at the Plough Inn at Great Haseley.

Date for next walk :    20th February  - Sue and Adrian will lead, possibly from Brightwell to Cholsey

We briefly discussed future format of our walks. It was decided that:

-  we stick to about 4 - 5 miles, making it about 2 to 2 and a half hours in time.

-  as shorter Warburton walks have been done we may have to start working out our own.

-  we continue meeting 9.30 am,  leaving it optional for people to stay for lunch

-  keep meeting at VH to work out car share
