The Village Stores Bulletin
May 2011
We hope everyone enjoyed the Easter break, and the fabulous weather that came with it! Our ice cream trolley did a great trade, helping lots of village children (and adults!) stay cool! Keep your eyes (and ears) open for it around the village in the future. After Easter we have, of course, celebrated The Royal Wedding which brought out lots of villagers to the fantastic Red Lion street party and definitely highlighted our village's 'Britishness'! In the shop we try to celebrate this every day with our range of locally sourced and produced food, wine and gifts - so don't forget to come in and show your patriotism!!
New In! • We will very soon be taking delivery of a new selection of delicious jams and chutneys with our own 'Brightwell-cum-Sotwell Village Stores' labels! Not only are they delicious, they will make great gifts for friends and family.
• We are also now stocking local rapeseed oil from Shrivenham. It's a really tasty alternative to olive oil, and apparently a lot healthier - why not come and try something new? • Some of you will no doubt know of the 'Cooks' range of ready made meals - they are wonderfully prepared, and well worth keeping in the freezer for those last minute meal emergencies! • In our non-food section we now have new cards from the Soul Card range.
As ever, our thanks to one and all for your continued support and encouragement! We have recently calculated that we need only four more people coming into the shop each day and spending £10 each to make ours one of the most successful community shops in the whole of the home counties, let alone Oxfordshire. We have lots of new and interesting offers that change on a regular basis and some are even less expensive than the local supermarkets! So if you haven't tried us recently - come on in and you will be sure of a very warm welcome. Even better, if you haven't already, why not volunteer to help in the shop, it's great fun and you never know who you might meet!
